Hand & Foot Tournament to raise funds for Tahoe PAWS

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Have you ever played the Hand & Foot card game? Beginners and seasoned players are invited to join in the fun on Monday, Sept. 15 at Valhalla Tahoe. All funds raised during the evening will go to Tahoe PAWS, a South Lake Tahoe-based nonprofit organization based in South Lake Tahoe dedicated to helping animals in need. It’s an all-volunteer group that specializes in animal search and rescue, focusing on finding lost and missing pets and reuniting them with their humans.
The cost is a $20 donation to play during the fundraiser scheduled for 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Hand and Foot is a card game, a variation of Canasta, where players aim to meld cards into books and go out by melding all cards from their hand and foot. It requires strategic thinking and keeping your mind active. The game is typically played with two to six players, often in teams.
There will be a training for both new and returning players on August 19. Contact Paige Rice at 530.318.4750 to sign up for the training and the event. She can also be reached at paigerice@gmail.com.
