Ski Run Blvd. Block Party Concert with Suika T (8-piece Cumbia Band)

City Council candidate John Friedrich is hosting a FREE concert and block party on Ski Run Blvd., between Birch Ave. and Larch Ave. (site of the Ski Run Farmers’ Market), on Saturday, September 26, 2026 from 4:00-8:00 pm.

The block party concert will feature a performance by Suika T, an 8-member Cumbia, Latin Fusion & Hip-Hop band, interspersed with DJ sets featuring Greg Ochoa and Dimas Pino. Suika T performed in August at Live at Lakeview. The event will kick-off with Cumbia, Salsa, and Bachata dance lessons taught by Alejandra Quirarte.

Vendors at the event, all from South Lake Tahoe, include Los Mexicanos restaurant, Hungry Bear, Cold Water Brewery and Grill, Three Pines Coffee Co., Gather Botanical Cafe, and the Honey Bee Ice Cream Truck.

4:00 – 5:00 pm Cumbia, Salsa, and Bachata Dance Lessons with Alejandra Quirarte

5:00 – 5:30 pm Greg & Dimas DJ Dance Set

5:30 – 6:30 pm Suika T

6:30 – 7:00 pm Greg & Dimas DJ Dance Set

7:00 – 8:00 pm Suika T

The event is sponsored by Friedrich’s campaign. Attendees will be invited to share their hopes and ideas for the future of South Lake Tahoe, which Friedrich will add to input he is gathering for a “People’s Platform,” which he intends to bring to the next City strategic plan update, if elected.
