CPR Classes at the South Lake Tahoe Fire Dept.

South Lake Tahoe Fire Department offers CPR classes to the public every third Saturday of the month. Classes take place at Fire Station #1 at Ski Sun Blvd. For more information or to register, call (530)542-6161.

ADA - American Disability Act Informational Discussion in Pollock Pines

Government officials will be in Pollock Pines on Thursday, March 15, at 6 pm, at the Pollock Pines/Camino Community Center to discuss ADA (American Disability Act) issues and how they affect local businesses. This visit is an opportunity to discuss the ADA issues, their fairness or unfairness, as applied to local businesses. All interested citizens are invited to this free presentation. Substitute Personnel has Office Space for Lease

For local business owners who are looking to rent desk space or an office, call Substitute Personnel. Sharing the space helps with rent and utilities, and they may be able to offer needed business services as well. Location is in the center of town near Sierra Tract.
Desk space could start as low as $250 per month including utilities and snow removal; separate office space would be $600 per month including utilities. Space includes furnishings,shared kitchen area and bathroom (not wheelchair accessible).

Douglas County authorities seek the public's help in locating several suspects involved in an attempt to cash a stolen check on Saturday at a drive-thru window at Bank of America on Topsy Lane in north Douglas County near Carson City.
The primary suspect, an unidentified male adult, attempted to cash the stolen check at 11:15 a.m. on Saturday while using the drive-thru teller window, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jim Halsey.

The Nevada State Demographer’s Office, located at the University of Nevada, Reno College of Business, has released its 2011 population estimates. A series of strong weather systems will begin moving through the Sierra on Tuesday bringing heavy rain, snow and wind to the Lake Tahoe region.
The National Weather Service in Reno reports that anywhere between 6 to 10 inches of precipitation is probable along the crest from Lake Tahoe northward through Saturday, bringing several feet of snow to the Sierra. What it will translate at lake level depends on how low the temperatures will drop, according to the weather service.
