Good news on Tahoe's clam colony front

When it comes to invading clams, Lake Tahoe might not be a very good place to make babies. That's the encouraging conclusion of new research by scientists at the University of Nevada, Reno who found that cold temperatures and lack of food combine to discourage reproduction of Asian clams in the lake.

The O'Neill Tahoe Cup - Tahoe Fall Classic is on Sunday, Sept. 18 beginning at 8 a.m. at Camp Richardson Marina. This 22-mile point-to-point SUP and Paddleboard race starts from the Camp Richardson Marina, South Lake Tahoe and finishes in Kings Beach at the State Beach.
