On a warm and sun-splashed Saturday in early July, 100 pickleball players gathered at Tahoe Paradise Park in Meyers for the second annual Pinkleball in Paradise tournament.
This spirited fundraiser is dedicated to raising money for local and national cancer support and research organizations, with an emphasis on breast cancer organizations. This year’s event set a record fundraising total of $17,352.

LAKE TAHOE, Calif./Nev. – The Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) Governing Board has voted unanimously to offer the position of General Counsel to attorney Graham St. Michel. He will oversee compliance cases, violation settlements, and other legal issues for the bi-state agency. He will fill the position held by the retiring John L. Marshall, who has served as TRPA counsel for 25 years.

The Nevada Day Parade returns this Saturday, Oct. 26, 2024! There will be a hot air balloon launch at 6 a.m. and 8 a.m. The military fly-over will signal the start of the parade, which begins at William Street and N. Carson Street and ends four hours later at the intersection of Stewart Street and S. Carson Street. The parade features marching bands, floats, equestrian groups, historical displays, Burning Man art cars, and much more.
The parade kicks off at 10 a.m. The Grand Marshall this year is country singer Lacy J. Dalton.

They’re back again for the second coming of Guilty Christmas. Yes, the characters from the long-running Guilty Pleasures are back in a winter show with newly updated sketches and songs in a fast-paced comic musical written specifically for the Tahoe audience, both local and visitor alike. Time has gone by since the group had served their community service together but all the characters remain. Older, (though perhaps not wiser), they are ready to get together again, and this time they are doing a Christmas show.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - St. Theresa’s Bread & Broth (B&B) Monday Meal has seen an increase in the number of community members wanting to enjoy a delicious and filling meal. With the increase in guests, volunteers are now adding tables and chairs to the Grace Hall dining room to accommodate everyone. The dinner guests also enjoy the ‘food to go’ bags filled with fresh fruit and vegetables, and an assortment of meats, canned goods, bread and pastries, and varied food products depending on the generous donations of local businesses.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Bread & Broth’s Cram-A-Hearse will be held on Saturday, October 26 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Grocery Outlet parking lot, 2358 Lake Tahoe Blvd., South Lake Tahoe. ALPINE COUNTY, Calif. - A day of fishing on the East Carson River in Alpine County didn't end up as planned for one man. On Tuesday, October 24, the Alpine County Sheriff's Office received a report of an overdue fisherman who had flown his privately owned helicopter to go fishing.
Alpine County Sheriff Tom Minder and deputies responded to the area of the East Carson River to locate the fisherman. While en route, deputies were notified the fisherman had called 911 to report his helicopter crashed and was currently in the river.

Seasonal closures apply to facilities at many recreation areas and sites including beaches, campgrounds, forest roads, parking lots, picnic areas, and trailheads.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Fall is still holding on with plenty of sunshine and mild temperatures in the forecast, but last week's two-day drop cold spell was enough for resorts to start making snow for the 2024-25 ski season.
Northstar and Heavenly will open for skiing and riding on November 22, with Kirkwood following closely on December 6,
All opening dates are subject to change due to conditions. They may be adjusted as time gets closed so check on individual resorts if planning a trip.
Sierra-at-Tahoe's targeted opening date is November 29.

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The South Tahoe Parks Foundation is partnering with the Tahoe Knight Monsters for a special community night on Friday, October 25. This is the Knight Monsters home opener weekend! The puck drop is at 7:30 p.m.
Tickets purchased through a special link will send a portion of proceeds directly to the Foundation, which will use the money to furnish the new South Lake Tahoe Recreation and Aquatics Center.

When completed, Sugar Pine Village will be a 248-unit community, transforming what was once vacant state-owned land into affordable housing for families and workers in the Tahoe region.
