Just like 2018, the 2022 Winter Olympics are being held halfway across the globe. Many Olympic events will be taking place while most of us are asleep with the 16 hour time difference between Beijing and South Lake Tahoe.
If you want to catch events live instead of the re-air, check out the NBC, Peacock, and USA television schedules. Some events are already underway even though the Opening Ceremony was at 3:30 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday. Those on the West Coast will see the broadcast starting at 5:00 p.m. or 8:00 p.m. Friday, depending on which channel you will be viewing the Olympics on. (See NBC broadcast schedule here).
The region is well represented on the slopes, led by Jamie Anderson in her third Olympics. Anderson is the most decorated woman in the X Games, just wining her 21st medal at Aspen last week where she won silver in both slopestyle and big air (eight gold, nine silver, four bronze).
At Sochi 2014, she won the first-ever Olympic medal awarded in women’s snowboard slopestyle.
At PyeongChang 2018, along with her slopestyle gold, Anderson captured silver in the big air, becoming the first female snowboarder to win two medals at a single Olympic Winter Games.
The 31-year-old Anderson grew up on the slopes of Sierra-at-Tahoe. She announced her engagement to Canadian snowboarder Tyler Nicholson last week.
The times below are when NBC broadcasts start on her events.
