South Lake Tahoe Fire Department Chief Bruce Martin has promoted Kenin Fairley to Shift Commander. Fairley’s first day as Shift Commander was Feb. 9.
“My thanks to those department members who assisted in the process, as well as the three outside raters. I also wish to thank Captain Jon Anderson for stepping up to the acting position for the last few weeks. Please congratulate and support Kenin; filling this critical leadership position permanently will help us get to work on the issues,” said Chief Martin.
Fairley began working for the City of South Lake Tahoe in 1998 as a Network Administrator in the Information Technology Department and joined the South Lake Tahoe Fire Department as a Reserve Firefighter in 2002 before officially joining the Fire Department in 2003.
During his career with SLTFD, Fairley has been promoted to an Engineer, Captain, and most recently Shift Commander.
Fairley married his high school sweetheart 23 years ago and is the father of two. In their free time, the Fairley family enjoys dirt and street bike riding and hope to explore international travel.
