South Lake Tahoe wrestler earns triple crown in Wrestling Ironman tournament

South Lake Tahoe 15-year old Andrew Herrera won his first triple crown in wrestling this weekend during USA Wrestling's Ironman youth tournament held in Reno.
The 182 pound South Tahoe High sophomore won first in Greco, Freestyle and Folkstyle.
Herrera comes off a third place finish with the high school team.
Ryan Wallace was Herrera's coach. Wallace has long been a wrestling figure on the South Shore, having wrestled locally through his childhood and has spent years mentoring youth in the sport.
Michael Valney, 16 from South Lake Tahoe, also wrested in the tournament which was held March 7-8. The STHS junior wrestled at 132 lbs and took 3rd place in all three styles: Greco, Freestyle and Folkstyle.
