Community invited to TASK meeting that will focus on fentanyl, opioids and Narcan

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - Learn about opioids, fentanyl, signs of an overdose, and how to use Narcan at the next meeting of the Tahoe Alliance for Safe Kids (TASK). They will be meeting on Thursday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. in the South Tahoe High School Student Union meeting room.
Shannon Decker of the Speedy Foundation will present a 30-45 minute program and training on the use of Narcan, fentanyl test strips, and other important information. The community is invited to attend.

The Speedy Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization named after 3-time Olympian, Jeret "Speedy" Peterson of Boise, ID and Park City, UT., someone near and dear to those communities that was lost to suicide. Our mission is to prevent suicide, support mental health education, and promote conversations to end stigma. They provide training on Mentally Covered, QPR Suicide Prevention, Opioid Response, Mental Health First Aid, Youth Mental Health First Aid, and Hope Squad.
TASK began as the South Tahoe Drug Free Coalition. It was originally created to address the high levels of youth substance use in South Lake Tahoe.
