Increased law enforcement on campuses after Douglas County schools receive threat

DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - The Douglas County Sheriff's Office (DCSO) responded to an anonymous threat made to the county's schools on Wednesday. Undersheriff Ron Elges said they received the threat against no particular school or location so they sent deputies to every school.

Elges said they "force multiplied" to schools to conduct area checks and to be visible to any possible threats. He reported nothing was found suspicious and no further reports or threats.

A message was sent to parents by the Douglas County School District (DCSD):

DouglasSD: Due to an anonymous tip at a not defined DCSD school, there will be law enforcement presence at all DCSD schools today. There is no specific threat at this time and we appreciate the support of DCSO in coordination with DCSD.
