Single car rollover near Walker Lake claims life of German visitor

A German woman visiting the United States with her family died in a single vehicle rollover crash near Walker Lake on US95 May 7.

Liane Kramer, 24, was one of six people traveling north in a 2010 Toyota Sienna when the driver, 20-year-old Nina Kiseleva, went off the roadway after passing a semi-truck and trailer according to the Nevada Highway Patrol. The car overturned in the dirt shoulder and came to rest on its wheels facing southwest at approximately 8:15 a.m. Saturday.

Kiseleva and her brother Ruvin, both from Vancouver, Washington were with four family members from Germany. All occupants but Ruvim were either fully or partially ejected from the vehicle at the time of the collision.

At this time in the investigation, it is believed that Ruvim was the only occupant of the vehicle that was wearing a seatbelt.

Kramer died at the scene and the other four occupants were transported by ground to Mt. Grant General Hospital in Hawthorne, Nevada. Due to inclement weather, military helicopters were required to transport all four occupants to a Reno area hospital for treatment of serious to critical injuries.

The southbound travel lane of US95 was shut down for several hours while the crash scene was investigated.

Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Multi-Disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (MIRT) is investigating this incident.
