Friends of the Library holding events this summer in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Friends of the Library in South Lake Tahoe have two book sales, an author talk with book signing, and an adventure interactive talk. All are scheduled for the South Lake Tahoe Library on Rufus Allen Boulevard.
Saturday, June 4th, 10 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - Pop-Up Book Sale. The Friends of the South Lake Tahoe Library are having a fun book sale. Looking for some great summer reads at prices that can’t be beaten? Then stop by the library for our special book sale. Fill a bag with as many books as possible and get the whole thing for just $5.00! Most individual books are .25 cents apiece, with some specially marked books available for $1.00. Payment is on the honor system, and we request that you bring the correct change.
Saturday, July 9, 1 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. - Creative Nature Observation: A Talk. Join the Friends of the Library for an interactive talk on the poetry of natural history and ways to have more meaningful experiences outdoors. Enjoy a selection of fine nature poetry and prose, paired with local wildlife photography, and science-rooted advice for deeper observation and appreciation of our beautiful world! The presentation is geared for adults but all are welcome. Free.
Saturday, July 16, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Book Sale. Join the Friends for a Book Sale in the South Lake Tahoe Library Community Room. We have a wide assortment of fiction, non-fiction, reference and children’s books, and an abundance of mysteries, and westerns. We want books donated by our community to find new homes. Members who have renewed for 2022 are invited to our Preview Sale at 9 AM. Our membership table will be open at that time to welcome renewals also. Come get your beach reads!
Tuesday, August 16, 5:30 p.m. Todd Borg Returns - Todd Borg, author of the Award-Winning Owen McKenna Mystery Thrillers returns to the library to share his 20th novel, Tahoe Moon. His character has been described as "A hero who walks confidently in the footsteps of Sam Spade, Philip Marlowe, and Lew Archer" by Kirkus Reviews. Join us for an evening of mystery, writing tips and descriptive Tahoe locales. Book sale and signing will begin at 5:30 p.m., presentation to follow at 6 p.m. Free.
