Applications being accepted for next Leadership Lake Tahoe

Since its beginning in 2003, Leadership Lake Tahoe has helped shape the community with over 100 new leaders from various sectors including Vail Resort, Barton Health, South Tahoe Public Utility District, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, the City of South Lake Tahoe, as well as small business owners and entrepreneurs including South Tahoe Now.
Through a ten-month long, comprehensive program, the current and future leaders increase their knowledge and awareness of the issues and challenges facing the South Shore community.
Individuals that are interested in improving the South Shore community, be it through education, awareness or otherwise, are encouraged to apply. However, applicants should be aware that this is an intensive ten-month commitment. Courses are held the first Wednesday of every month from September 2017 until June 2018.
Each day will cover a different topic, which may include leadership development, education, government, media/communication, tourism, public safety, environment/transportation, social services/community resources, economic revitalization and others. Classes will feature leading business professionals and officials to enlighten participants on current issues affecting our community and region. Class participants will also receive training in leadership development from professional facilitators that will directly benefit participates personal and professional development.
The application process for Leadership Lake Tahoe is competitive and participants are selected based on their demonstrated concern for, and interest in, our community.
A completed application is due by Monday, June 12. The following will also be needed:
-Your $150 deposit is due no later than Friday, June 30 to be eligible for the program. The remaining tuition is due upon the start of your class sessions. Once your application is received you will be invoiced for the deposit amount. If you are not accepted into the program your deposit will be refunded to you.
-An interview will be scheduled with all applicants and acceptance notifications will be made by Friday, July 28.
-Completed applications must include:
-Cover Letter describing your career goals and desire for an active leadership role in the South Shore community.
-Current Resume.
-Two References.
-Letter of Recommendation from one of the following: Leader in your organization, a Tahoe Chamber board member, a Leadership Lake Tahoe alumni, or any civic leader.
