Suspect dies after being arrested in El Dorado County

A man died early Thursday morning after being arrested by El Dorado County Sheriff's deputies in Pollock Pines.
At 4:30 a.m. this morning, deputies responded to a suspicious man who was sitting in a vehicle not belonging to him in the 6000 block of Pony Express Trail.
The man, a white male in his 60s, was uncooperative with deputies as they attempted to arrest him. He then started having medical issues and emergency personnel were called to the scene. The man was transported to Marshall Hospital where he died.
Investigators from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office, the District Attorney’s Office and other local agencies are investigating this incident according to standard protocols.
The deceased man’s identity will be released once next of kin is notified.
