Full slate of activities during South lake Tahoe's "Parks Make Life Better" month

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - July is "Parks Make Life Better" month in California, and the City of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department is celebrating with many activities.

They have partnered with local groups to offer a variety of events designed to promote the many benefits of the City's parks as well as strengthen the community through people, parks, and programs.

As part of the celebration, City Council issued a Proclamation recognizing the importance of access to local parks, recreation, trails, open space, and facilities as a respite for all people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Over the past year, record numbers of people flocked to outdoor spaces in search of safe, self-directed outdoor activities. Now that many restrictions have been lifted, there is no better time to invite the public to participate in programs that promote physical, emotional, and mental health and wellness through guided organized activities. As part of the statewide celebration, the City Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the groups to offer a variety of events designed to promote the many benefits of our parks as well as strengthen the community through people, parks, and programs.

There are several programs with the partners that will highlight recreation, history, culture, wildlife, and natural healing benefits of City parks and open spaces. These programs are free of charge however donations to the program sponsor are encouraged.
