South Lake Tahoe law enforcement kept busy during the July 4 holiday weekend

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - During the July 4 holiday, South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) was kept busy, responding to 443 incidents between Friday, June 30 at 6 a.m. to Wednesday, July 5 at 6 a.m. Out of those incidents for traffic stops, location checks, animal incidents, BOLOs, outside agency assistance, and regular calls for service, 64 resulted in reports being written. SLTPD made 20 arrests during this time, five on the 4th of July.

"I would say overall, with the large number of people in town, as a whole the crowds yesterday were well behaved," said SLTPD Lt. Scott Crivelli of July 4. "The weekend was much busier than yesterday."

There were two fights that broke out on the beach at Timber Cove Wednesday, but not as big as the fight at the beach north of Zephyr Cove in 2022.
