Washoe County Sheriff's Office arrests suspect following standoff in Incline Village

INCLINE VILLAGE, Nev. - On August 26, 2024, at approximately 2:15 p.m., Washoe County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a report of an unknown disturbance at a residence in the 300 block of Alder Court in Incline Village.

Upon arrival, witnesses in the area reported hearing what they believed to be gunfire. Deputies quickly searched the area and made contact with an armed individual who had barricaded himself and discharged rounds inside his residence. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office SWAT and Hostage Negotiation teams were dispatched to the scene. During this time, the suspect pointed a firearm at deputies multiple times.

After a brief standoff, the suspect surrendered and was taken into custody.

The suspect was identified as 69-year-old Incline Village resident George Alan Connor. Connor is currently being held at the Washoe County Detention Facility on the following charges:

• Four counts of battery with a deadly weapon
• Three counts of discharging a firearm within a structure
• Discharging a gun where a person may be endangered
• Discharging a gun in a public place
• Owning/possessing a gun by a prohibited person
