El Dorado County's Transportation Division has announced upcoming partial and full road closures for Black Bart Avenue, Barbara Avenue and Martin Avenue in order to complete an overlay project starting September 21, 2015.
Black Bart and Martin Avenues are scheduled for directional closures September 21, 22 and 24 between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. During these directional closures, motorists will only be allowed to drive in the direction from Pioneer Trail to U.S. 50.
Motorists wishing to travel in the direction of U.S. 50 to Pioneer Trail will be required to use either Al Tahoe Boulevard or Elks Club Boulevard. Additional traffic control with reversing controls may be needed between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. from September 30 through October 7 to complete the project.
Barbara Avenue is currently scheduled to be closed to all traffic on September 23 and September 28. During the closures motorists will be detoured to Fountain Avenue.
These closures are necessary to allow for the safe and efficient construction of the County’s asphalt concrete overlay project on these roads. Detour signs will be posted to guide traffic around the work zones. Motorists are encouraged to utilize the detours or other alternate routes that also bypass the work zones. The dates shown are estimates and are subject to change due to weather or other reasons. Motorists are encouraged to be alert when entering the construction zone and watch for workers and equipment.
Project updates will also be available at the Transportation Division Website.
