Kiwanis honors Barton Healthcare during their annual installation of officers

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - The Kiwanis Club of Tahoe Sierra celebrated another year of service to the South Lake Tahoe community during its annual installation of officers celebration on August 15 at Revive Coffee and Wine Bar.
After two years of leadership, Kelly Meyer was retired as president and she passed the gavel to Mike Foster. He and the 2021-2022 officers and board members were installed by Kiwanis, Cal-Nev-Ha Division 45, Lieutenant Governor Christy Ramsey.
Along with Mike, the team includes Kelly Meyer (immediate past president), Pat Frega (vice-president) Tom Millham (treasurer), Marie Foster (secretary), and board members Rich Dart, Cheryl Millham, George Alm, Bob Olsen and Sharon Seegelken.
Before leaving office, Kelly Meyer presented Marie Foster with a Distinguished Service Award. Marie is a charter member of the club, two term past president and current club secretary. She has served on many committees and is club advisor for the Kiwanis Aktion Club, a service club for adults living with developmental disabilities.
During the festivities, the Club presented this year’s Community Service Award to Barton Healthcare in recognition of their ongoing dedication to South Lake Tahoe. Accepting the award on behalf of Dr. Clint Purvance, CEO and president of Barton Healthcare was Director of Community Benefits Chris Proctor.
Kiwanis wanted to thank Barton Healthcare not only for the exceptional medical care of its front line medical staff, but for all of their dedicated personnel working tirelessly every day, especially during the pandemic. The award was presented by Tom Millham, Past Club President and Gary Gray, Kiwanis Cal-Nev-Ha District Governor.
