Temperatures to drop 15 degrees for the first day of Fall in South Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE - The first day of Fall will be here on Thursday, but until then enjoy the last hurrah of Summer.

Winds will be increasing as another cold front pushes through the region early next week. Winds will begin to increase Monday becoming quite breezy by Tuesday and Wednesday.

Expect some fire weather concerns and choppy lake conditions as winds increase. Conditions then cool below seasonal averages for the end of the week with afternoon highs around 65 degrees for the Lake Tahoe Basin and 70 degrees for Western Nevada on Thursday. It might be time to dust off those cool weather jackets if you haven't already!

Sunday - Sunny, with a high near 79. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 46. West wind 5 to 10 mph.

Monday - Sunny, with a high near 79. Southwest wind 5 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 20 mph.

Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 47. Southwest wind 10 to 15 mph.

Tuesday - Sunny, with a high near 75.

Tuesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 48.

Wednesday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 71.

Wednesday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 42.

Thursday - Sunny, with a high near 65.

Thursday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 36.

Friday - Sunny, with a high near 68.

Friday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 41.

Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 70.
