I have lived in South Lake Tahoe for 35 years and have worked, played, and raised my son here. I am supporting Joby Cefalu for City Council because he cares for our community, works hard for what he believes, and gets things done.
My experience with Joby dates to when we both worked on the South Tahoe National Little League Board while he was president (and a coach) about 20 years ago. It was touching to watch how well Joby worked with and supported the kids in Little League. Joby loved the game and loved the kids – they always came first – and he saw to it that any child who wanted to play baseball was given the opportunity. Sports reveal character (whether playing, coaching or administrating), and, as anyone who’s been involved with Little League knows, character reveals itself right, left, and center! On any issue that arose, Joby took the time to educate himself, was always fair, and was never afraid to say what he thought. If he was wrong, he was open to learning why and to self-correct; just as important, if he was right, he was not afraid to stand up for what he believed. Most important, whatever the issue, Joby saw it through to its end.
Over the years, Joby has continued his involvement with the community through youth sports, the Planning Commission, the Parks & Rec Commission, and the TKPOA Board of Directors – all with the same level of care, commitment and passion he devoted to Little League. It's because of his thoughtful involvement with community that I support Joby for City Council. I firmly believe our town will be well served by the likes of Joby Cefalu. I hope you'll join me on the 8th and vote for Joby.
Thank you,
Julie Snyder
