For the fourth time in five years the South Tahoe High School girls soccer team has brought home top honors from the Nevada State Championships.
The Lady Vikings and the Sierra Vista High team were tied 2-2 after the Division 1-A regulation match after South Tahoe's Ashlee Schouten and Maia Bickert each scored goals, one in each half. Freshman Annie Brejc shot in the winning goal in overtime, resulting in a 3-2 victory over the team from Southern Nevada.
On the boys side, Truckee and Chapparal were tied in their match as well. Truckee went on to win the State Championship.
