Chain controls go up around Lake Tahoe

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. - For the first time in months it is snowing in the Sierra and chain controls are up on area roads. The snow hit a few hours later than planned, but, it's here!
As of 10:00 p.m. Wednesday night the following controls are in place:
Highway 50/Echo Summit - From Fred's Place to Meyers: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas).
State Route 89- From Christmas Valley to Pickett's Junction: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas).
State Route 89 - From Ebrights to Bliss State Park - Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas). From Bliss State Park north to Harper's Grade - hains are required on all vehicles except passenger vehicles and light-duty trucks under 6,000 pounds gross weight and equipped with snow tires on at least two drive wheels. Chains must be carried by vehicles using snow tires. All vehicles towing trailers must have chains on one drive axle. Trailers with brakes must have chains on at least one axle.
State Route 88 - It is a mess with numerous spinouts and other traffic issues. Expect traffic to be held as they are cleared out. From Ham's Station to Woodfords: Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas).
State Route 267 - From Kings Beach to Truckee - Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas).
I80 - From Truckee to Nyack - Chains or traction devices are required on all vehicles except four wheel/ all wheel drive vehicles with snow-tread tires on all four wheels. (Four wheel/all wheel drive vehicles must carry traction devices in chain control areas).
On the Nevada Side:
Chains Required, All Vehicles Except 4-Wheel Drive with Snow Tires - on SR-207 from US-50 Junction to Dagget Pass Chain Up Area in Nevada.
Chains Required, All Vehicles Except 4-Wheel Drive with Snow Tires - on US-50 from Glenbrook to mile post 4.5 in Carson City County in Nevada.
Chains Required, All Vehicles Except 4-Wheel Drive with Snow Tires - on SR-28 from US-50 Junction to Secret Harbor Chain Up Area in Nevada.
Chains Required, All Vehicles Except 4-Wheel Drive with Snow Tires - on SR-431 from Fairview Boulevard to Bulls Eye in Nevada.
