A Gardnerville man was arrested Tuesday night after a shotgun was discharged through the wall of a duplex, injuring two people.
At 11:30 p.m. on December 15, 2015, Douglas County Sheriff deputies got a call that shots were fired and someone was hurt in the 1400 block of Kimmerling Road in Gardnerville.
Tyson Degenhart, 39, was arrested for unlawful discharge of a firearm according to said Sgt. Pat Brooks. Investigators learned that Degenhart and a friend were drinking when the friend produced a shotgun and handed it to Degenhar who then pointed it towards a wall and pulled the trigger. The shotgun was loaded and he discharged the round through the wall and into the adjacent residential unit on the other side of the wall.
The shotgun round struck two victims who were sitting on the other side of the wall and they were transported by East Fork Fire and Paramedics to the Carson Valley Medical Center for treatment. The victims sustained non-life threatening injuries and were treated and released.
Degenhart was arrested and transported to the Douglas County Jail. His bail has been set at $25,000.00
