August 4 update: The cause of the accident is still under investigation. The pair’s parachute deployed but there was an unknown problem that caused it to not slow their descent.

Update 2:55 p.m.: At approximately 10:15 am on Thursday, August 3rd, 2017, deputies of the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office were called to a report of two skydivers down near the Minden Airport. Upon arrival, deputies found two deceased skydivers on the ground outside the perimeter of the airport.
