SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe City Clerk’s office has started the solicitation process for Commission and Board applications.
Applications for the following will be due by 12 p.m. on Monday, December 2, 2024:
El Dorado Community Action Council (one seat)
El Dorado County Commission on Aging (one seat)
TRPA Advisory Planning Commission (one seat)
Applications for the following will be due by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2025:
Airport Land Use Commission (two seats)
Building Board of Appeals (five seats)
Parks and Recreation Commission (four seats)
Planning Commission (three seats)
Arts, Culture, and Tourism Commission (four seats)
Police Advisory Commission (three seats)

Airport Land Use Commission – The City Council will be appointing two (2) members to serve a two-year term on the airport Land Use Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Airport Land Use Commission meets as needed to review the compatibility of land use plans and regulations around the airport.
Building Board of Appeals – The City Council will be appointing up to five (5) members to serve a two-year term on the Building
and Housing Board of Appeals. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Building and Housing Board of Appeals meets on an as-needed basis.
Parks & Recreation Commission – The City Council will be appointing four (4) members to serve two-year terms on the Parks & Recreation Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Parks & Recreation Commission currently meets monthly but shall meet at least quarterly.
Planning Commission – The City Council will be appointing three (3) members to serve two-year terms on the Planning Commission. Applicants must reside within the City limits. The Planning Commission meets
monthly assuming there is business to conduct.
Arts, Culture, & Tourism Commission – The City Council will be appointing three (3) at-large members and one (1) Boys and Girls Club member to serve two-year terms on the Arts, Culture, & Tourism Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County.
The Arts, Culture, & Tourism Commission currently meets monthly but shall meet at least quarterly.
Police Advisory Commission – The City Council will be appointing three (3) members to serve two-year terms on the Police Advisory Commission. Applicants must reside within the Tahoe Basin portion of El Dorado County. The Police Advisory Commission meets at least quarterly.
