Douglas County has new "Text to 9-1-1" emergency service
Submitted by paula on Sat, 01/18/2020 - 7:09pmDOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. - Douglas County 9-1-1 Emergency Services, which represents the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and fire agencies in Douglas and Alpine Counties, have instituted a "Text-to-9-1-1" service, giving those in an emergency situation the ability to text via mobile phone to get help.

I applaud the brave women who have been coming forward, discussing their past and the traumas they have endured. One of the reasons that we read history books is so we can learn from others mistakes. If we would like to make an impacting change in this world, we must acknowledge the whole issue.
Janet Jackson brings high energy and endless hits to Lake Tahoe
Submitted by paula on Sat, 08/11/2018 - 11:11pmSTATELINE, Nev. - Fans of pop star Janet Jackson have been waiting a long time to see her on tour, and after Friday night's concert at the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys they can say it was worth the wait.
Jackson had to put a halt to her 2015 tour and have surgery, then her tour ended again in 2016 after she announced her pregnancy. Now she has hit the road with her long-awaited State of the World Tour.

As our brains grow, they create a blueprint for every new experience we have, the sounds, the touches and the sights. We may not remember what happens to us as a baby but our experiences are forever etched in our brains and create the building blocks of our lives.
South Lake Tahoe man in jail on robbery, burglary, drug and assault charges
Submitted by paula on Fri, 10/09/2015 - 4:07pmA 24-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was arrested Thursday on several charges stemming from an incident at his ex-girlfriend's home the night before.
According to South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD), Jesus Corona Mariscal went to the former girlfriend's home on Wednesday night. He entered the home, allegedly grabbed her throat and choked her, then stole her keys and phone, and left.
