In an effort to revamp and enhance our program, we reached out to a wide variety of businesses and donors. We had gracious support from small local businesses all the way to large corporations.
Kudos: Warm Room open house a success

We were proud to honor City Councilwoman Wendy David for her participation in the establishment of the Warm Room. David was facilitator of the Lake Tahoe Collaborative when a committee was established to create a vision and a plan for the Warm Room. Her support through nonprofit collaboration and in her role at the City of South Lake Tahoe has been greatly appreciated by all at TCH who have had the honor to work with her.
Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe in need of a new truck
Submitted by paula on Tue, 03/14/2017 - 1:36pmThe Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) is need of a truck after a recent crash on Johnson Blvd. in South Lake Tahoe totaled their 2002 Chevy. This truck was vital to the club's transportation needs and insurance will not cover replacement.
Nobody was hurt in the collision.
During the school-year, the truck is used to transport food to and from the club's satellite site, Bijou Elementary School, as well as donations that the community provides.

Submitted by paula on Sun, 03/05/2017 - 12:13pmA packed house at MontBleu Resort on Saturday night was on hand to see Blue Angel Cafe owner, and Lake Tahoe Community College Board Trustee Jeff Cowen win the mirror ball trophy for the 5th annual Tahoe Arts Project's Dancing with the Tahoe Stars.
Cowen, and his professional partner Rhonda Keen performed a Bollywood number that brought down the house.
Heads are shaved in South Lake Tahoe to raise money to fight childhood cancer

Boys and girls, men and women, families, fire fighters, ski patrol, students and dozens of others all lined up at Heavenly Mountain Resort Friday night to have their heads shaved, all in the name of children's cancer research. 110 people in total stopped by to "Brave the Shave" and raise funds to support research of childhood cancer.
Ross fundraiser nets almost $5,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe

"The Boys and Girls Club of Lake Tahoe (BGCLT) has been overwhelmed by the generosity and support of the community during the recent ‘Ross Cause Campaign’ that benefited the Club," said Jude Wood, Executive Director of BGCLT.

Tahoe Warm Room celebrates community, success and Wendy David
Submitted by paula on Fri, 02/24/2017 - 10:33amThe Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless held an open house Wednesday, February 22 to show the community their new winter home, introduce volunteers and board members, answer questions and honor South Lake Tahoe Councilmember, and Mayor Pro Tem, Wendy David.
David has been a driving force in the community to provide the basic, necessary temporary shelter to those in housing insecurity during the dangerously cold season.

South Lake Tahoe, Calif. – The Tahoe Coalition for the Homeless invites the South Shore community to attend their second annual Warm Room Open House on Wednesday, February 22 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at 2179 Lake Tahoe Boulevard, South Lake Tahoe. The Warm Room provides overnight refuge from the elements in a safe and warm environment for adult men and women who are experiencing homelessness.
The Open House offers visitors a chance to tour the 2016-2017 space of operation, to meet volunteers and Board members, and to ask questions about the program and homelessness in our community.

It is always a treat to see the delight in children’s eyes as they admire handcrafted trees and seek “treatment” for their injured teddy bears at the Teddy Bear Hospital.

Patricia Hicks (Pat) McCulloch 1948 - 2017
Submitted by paula on Sun, 01/22/2017 - 4:17pmNative Nevadan Patricia Hicks McCulloch (Pat) died peacefully on Monday, January 9 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her husband, William H. (Bill) McCulloch.
Pat was, as they say, a "force of nature". She was a dear family member to dozens and a dear friend to literally hundreds and she was never without a smile on her face.

The new store was built in the former home of Staples after they closed in June, 2016. There was a complete overhaul of the 24,000 square foot store from the foundation up.

January 27, 2017 - 7:00pm Join is for the screening of Leonardo DiCaprio's film "llth Hour" which chronicles the warming of our planets and the affects it is and will be causing. In light of the attitude of our incoming president on climate change this film and others lie it
are even more important now.
Admission is free (donations accepted)but please RSVP to 541-1027 so we have an idea of how many people we can expect.
There will be light refreshments and a free raffle.
