Proposed parcel tax for county residents to support Lake Valley Fire

Tahoe Arts Project holds 6th annual Dancing With the Tahoe Stars

Ten local members of the South Lake Tahoe community will be demonstrating their dancing skills on Saturday, March 3 at the 6th annual Tahoe Arts Project Dancing with the Tahoe Stars in the MontBleu Showroom starting at 6:30 p.m.
Master of Ceremonies for the evening will once again be Dreu Murin.
Ten locals have been paired with ten dancers to perform various styles of dance including Cha Cha, Tango, Salsa, Merengue, Swing, Disco, Fox Trot, Bachata, Hip Hop and Musical Theater.
Thran's Flowers and Lake Valley Fire give 10 families a Christmas tree
Submitted by paula on Thu, 12/21/2017 - 6:09pmTen local families will have a merrier Christmas after Lake Valley Fire Protection District (LVFPD), with the help of Katie Long of Thran's Flowers, made sure they had a decorated tree set up in their homes.
Captain Chuck Malone and Firefighter/Paramedic Dusty LaChapelle delivered the trees and, according to LVFPD, were delighted to help deliver and were overjoyed to see the smiles on the faces of the families that received the trees.
Thran's Flowers donated the trees, stands, lights and ornaments.
Lake Valley Fire announces Firefighter and Citizen of the Year

Winners during the evening:
Firefighter of the Year – Ted Jackson
Civilian Award of Merit – Jacob Zorn, Dept of Transportation
Civilian Award of Merit – Ian Whitmarsh, University of San Francisco
Life Saver Award – Alex Vaughn, Sierra-at-Tahoe Ski Patrol
Life Saver Award – Engineer Wes Long and Firefighter/Paramedic Mike Anderson
Dusty LaChapelle named as the Lake Valley Fire District’s Firefighter of the Year
Submitted by paula on Mon, 03/07/2016 - 2:08pmThe Lake Valley Fire Protection District (LVFPD) is proud to announce Dusty LaChapelle as the District’s Firefighter of the Year and one of the Tahoe-Douglas Rotary Club’s Community Hero Award recipients. The Community Hero Award recognizes local police, fire professionals, and others in the community who embody the Rotarian motto, “Service Above Self.” The award will be given March 11, 2016 at the Tahoe-Douglas Rotary St. Patrick’s Celebration at Harrah’s Tahoe.
