TRPA oversight committee of Nevada Legislative to meet at Lake Tahoe

The next regular meeting of the Nevada State Legislative Committee for the Review and Oversight of the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency (TRPA) and the Marlette Lake Water System will be held Friday, May 3 at 1 p.m. in the Trepp Room at Parasol Tahoe Community Foundation, Incline Village, Nevada.

This committee of the Nevada Legislature meets several times every other year during the state’s interim session to discuss the work of TRPA and Nevada state agencies in the Lake Tahoe Basin and to provide oversight on issues important to Nevada citizens.

The body is comprised of six legislators, three from each house, who review agency budgets, programs, and activities and to communicate with members of the California Legislature to achieve the goals set forth in the Bi-State Tahoe Regional Planning Compact.

TRPA and other Lake Tahoe organizations will provide informational presentations to the committee on destination stewardship, and progress on affordable and workforce housing, and the Tahoe Prosperity Center will give a presentation on economic development. The meeting topics all relate to strengthening local communities and ensuring Tahoe is a place where people can live, work, and play.
