SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Two South Lake Tahoe men were arrested Wednesday evening after a gun was fired inside their apartment, sending a bullet into their neighbor’s unit.
The South Lake Tahoe Police Department (SLTPD) responded to Bart’s Tahoe Apartments on Ski Run Blvd. just before 7 p.m. on January 8 after a person living below the suspects reported a bullet coming through his ceiling, hitting a dining table and then his oven. Nobody was hurt in the incident.
After patrol officers responded, made the scene safe and started an investigation, detectives arrived.
Dustin Wilson, 33, admitted to SLTPD that he accidentally fired the gun and that it wasn’t his intention for the gun to go off. He was charged with one count of willful discharge of a firearm in a grossly negligent manner, a felony, and a bail enhancement. His bail has been set at $75,000.
Taylor Brady, also 33, was charged with illegally possessing two rifles that are classified as assault weapons due to their features, and possession of a short barrel rifle that was homemade and not registered with the Department of Justice and without a serial number. His bail has been set at $60,000.
Both suspects are currently in the El Dorado County Jail in South Lake Tahoe.
