SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Dry weather will prevail in the region through next weekend with near to above normal temperatures this week. Expect light winds and strengthening inversions during the week, which could create hazy skies and air quality reductions. Overnight fog could return to the Sierra, burning off by morning.

Gusty east winds will develop along Sierra ridges Monday into Tuesday, and possibly late in the week, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Reno.

The warming trend is owed to the fact that upper-level ridging will continue to strengthen through the week.
