DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – The Federal Bureau of Investigation has determined that the reported threats made to several schools in Northern Nevada this morning were a hoax. Investigators are continuing to work to identify the origin of the threats.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office conducted extensive checks in response to the reported threats and found no suspicious activity, along with Carson City, Lyon County and Storey County.

“The Carson City School District is aware of a generic High School threat to exterior school grounds, which was sent to several school districts in Nevada today. The Nevada Threat Assessment Center (NTAC) is investigating. The threat is not considered credible. Out of an abundance of caution, Carson High School was temporarily placed on hold, which has now been lifted.”
