SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The road to a state championship begins in South Lake Tahoe for the Vikings on Monday as both the boys and girls basketball teams enter the Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association (NIAA) 3A regional and league championships.

3A Northern Region Tournament 

The South Tahoe High School (STHS) Boys’ team is the #1 seed at 9 and will host Spring Creek (3-7) in the gym on Monday at 6 p.m.

The regional semi-finals and championship games will be at Wooster High Feb. 13-14.

Incline Village (8-2) is the #2 seed in the West and will host their first-round game on Monday against Dayton (5-5), also at 6 p.m. Truckee, the #4 seed, travels to Fernley (10-1) for its 7:30 p.m. matchup. Truckee is 5-5 for the season.

The South Tahoe High Girls team (10-0) will the home team on Feb. 11, but game time and opponent need to be set after a “play-in” game between Spring Creek and Lowry, each with a 3-7 record.

The Incline girls (3-6) take their #4 seed into the playoffs and travel to Fernley (9-1) for a 6 p.m. game Monday.

Truckee (8-2) hosts Elko on Monday at 5 p.m.

The top two teams in the regional tournament represent the North at the 3A State Tournament Feb. 20-21 at Fernley High School.
