DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – Douglas County announced that “Minden-Tahoe SkyFest” has been selected as the official new name for the county’s signature aviation event, previously known as the Aviation Roundup. The new name was chosen through a community voting process held earlier this year, reflecting strong local engagement and enthusiasm for the event’s next chapter.
Minden-Tahoe SkyFest will take place October 16–18, 2026, at the Minden-Tahoe Airport. The event will feature world-class aerial performances by the Patriots Jet Team, an after-dark aviation experience, ground displays, and family-friendly activities celebrating aviation in the Sierra region.
“This new name captures both our location and our spirit—it celebrates the skies, our community, and the long-standing tradition of aviation excellence here in Douglas County,” said Heather MacDonnell, Minden-Tahoe Airport manager. “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who voted and helped shape the future of this event.”
