Fifth graders from the Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) recently had an unforgettable experience, spending three days skiing and snowboarding at Heavenly Mountain Resort. This incredible opportunity was made possible through the generous support of the Vail Epic Promise Grant, which provided students with lift tickets, equipment rentals, and professional lessons.

For many students, this was their first time experiencing the thrill of skiing or snowboarding, and what better place to learn than on the breathtaking slopes of Heavenly? In addition to mastering new skills, students had the chance to take in stunning panoramic views of Lake Tahoe from the mountaintop, creating memories that will last a lifetime.

The dedicated staff at Heavenly went above and beyond to welcome the students, ensuring they felt comfortable and confident on the slopes. With expert instructors leading the way, students progressed quickly, gaining not only technical skills but also an appreciation for the natural beauty of their own backyard.

LTUSD students and families expressed their deep gratitude to the Vail Epic Promise Grant for making this experience possible. Providing local youth with access to outdoor recreation fosters a love for nature, encourages physical activity, and instills a sense of community pride.

Thanks to the support of the Vail Epic Promise Grant and the outstanding team at Heavenly, LTUSD 5th graders were able to embrace an incredible learning adventure—one that will inspire them for years to come.
