SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A main artery between the north and south shores of Lake Tahoe has been closed due to heavy snow and avalanche concerns. Caltrans has been able to clear SR-89 and it is once again open.
Another round of heavy snow on the West Shore could close it again so check http://quickmap.dot.ca.gov/ prior to driving.
