EL DORADO COUNTY, Calif. – Two El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office (EDSO) deputies are in stable condition on Wednesday night after being shot during an officer-involved shooting in the 700 block of Mountain View Drive in Camino.

An EDSO spokesperson updated the public at 7 p.m. on the incident.

At around 07:25 a.m. March 12, 2026, EDSO responded to a residence in Camino after a PG&E crew reported that they were shot at, with one employee injured. The type of injuries the crewmember received or their condition has not been disclosed at this time.

Law enforcement including deputies and a SWAT team attempted to deescalate the situation for approximately three hours when the became involved in the “officer involved shooting.”

Two deputies and the suspect were shot and injured. Both of the injured deputies were transported to a hospital by ambulance and are in stable condition. The suspect was flown by air ambulance and is also receiving medical treatment at a regional hospital. Their condition has not been released.

There are no outstanding suspects, and there are no known threats to public safety in the area of Mountain View Dr. in Camino, said EDSO. The 700 block of Mountain View Dr. is closed due to the ongoing investigation, which is being conducted according to the El Dorado County Critical Incident Protocol with multiple investigators from the El Dorado County District Attorney’s Office, Placerville Police, South Lake Tahoe Police, and the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office.

EDSO said they would like to thank their law enforcement partners who assisted them and thank the community for the outpouring of support for the injured deputies.t. They were all transported by medics to area hospitals. This is still an active scene and ongoing investigation. Law enforcement will remain in the area.
