South Lake Tahoe’s Catalyst Community joined Bread & Broth (B&B) in supporting the neediest members of our community by sponsoring an Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD) at St. Theresa’s Grace Hall on Monday, March 17.   Catalyst Community offers innovative resources and referrals to both families and childcare facilities in order to help strengthen families in our community.  

Sponsoring their first Monday Meal ever, Catalyst Community sent a great group of AAD volunteers which included Sarah Abram, Julia Dirnu, Armando Garcia, Cristal Gomez, and Nataly Rubio.   The AAD team arrived decked out in green, wearing shamrocks, green glitter, and other green touches to help everyone who attended the meal to celebrate in honorary Irish fashion.

“Our Adopt A Day at B&B was an amazing experience,” shared Sarah Abram, Catalyst Community’s Resource and Referral supervisor.  “It is wonderful to see the way that B&B is providing for the community.”  Sarah and her fellow Catalyst Community team members were so helpful, and their enthusiasm and cheerfulness put a smile on the faces of those they served.

“Everyone we served was so grateful and raved about how good the food was,” added Sarah.  “The B&B volunteers were very welcoming and helpful.  They kept us busy with tasks, i.e., packing food giveaway bags, dishing out the meal on the serving line, drying dishes, and ending the evening with the meal’s takedown and cleanup.”

In closing, Sarah also said that, “Serving was a great opportunity for team building, getting to know members of the community, and sharing what the B&B organization does.  Thanks so much for having us. We can’t wait to come back!”

Bread & Broth was so pleased to have another non-profit service organization join us in doing what we do best…helping others. Catalyst Community is a great resource for families, offering childcare referrals, providing a diaper and formula program, and hosting their Kid’s Expo at the LTCC on May 17, which are just a few of the services that they provide.  B&B was honored to have Catalsyt Community serving in conjunction with us and we look forward to future partnerships.
