What do you think of when you think of a library? Books, right? Well, the South Lake Tahoe branch of our county library offers more – much more!
Did you know the library offers a chess club? Fiber art, knitting and crochet groups?A writer’s support group? There are numerous activities for kids, including “Mother Goose on the Loose”, “Ruff – Read up for Fun” (the kids love reading with their furry friends!), and programs for toddlers. And then there are numerous book clubs enabling readers to engage with others, thereby helping to foster friendships within our community.
Another creative offering is a jigsaw puzzle exchange, along with a community puzzle placed in the middle of the room, inviting library visitors to find just the right piece to complete the picture.
Our library is also a place for people to utilize computers and printers. This service is crucial for many members of our community to stay connected.
And did I mention how helpful and friendly the staff is? It is always service with a smile!
Community is important, and our local library serves as an important hub for information, socializing, and education. That is why it is crucial that we vote YES on Measure B in the upcoming June election.
This measure is not a new tax, but merely a continuation of the tax we voted on many years ago that is set to expire this year. This important revenue source must be preserved to ensure the services we have come to enjoy can continue.
I hope you will join me in voting YES on MEASURE B!
