SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, On February 23, Adelynn Preciado was seriously injured in an accident when another person fell onto her, causing a severe break to her ankle in three places, along with a dislocation and damage to a major artery in her foot. This led to “compartment syndrome.”
What followed was something no family is ever prepared for. Adelynn underwent five surgeries and spent six days in the hospital as doctors worked to stabilize her injury and relieve complications from the trauma.
Thankfully, the Bijou Community School student made it out of the most critical stage and was been placed in a hard cast. She is finally on the path toward healing—but the road ahead will be long.
Adelynn will be unable to walk or attend school for at least the next three months and requires around-the-clock care during her recovery.
The timing has made an already difficult situation even more challenging. Adelynn’s mom, Annie, had just started a new job working with children with special needs the very day of the accident and lost that opportunity while caring for her daughter full-time. With medical bills along with everyday expenses like rent, food, and transportation, the financial strain has become overwhelming.
This is where our community can come together and help Adelynn focus on healing. If you’re able to donate, any amount truly helps support Adelynn’s recovery and ease the burden on her family.
