SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – A preliminary 5.7 magnitude earthquake centered in Silver Springs, Nev., occurred Monday evening, followed by several aftershocks. The United States Geological Survey (USGS) is reporting that the earthquake, centered about 17 miles SW of Fallon, occurred at 6:29 p.m.
Since then, as of 6:45 p.m., the Nevada Seismological Laboratory at UNR shows there have been 12 aftershocks ranging in magnitude from 2.5 to 3.7.
