Get prepared for the upcoming gardening season by participating in upcoming virtual Grow Your Own High Elevation Gardening workshops hosted by UC Davis TERC, UCCE Master Gardeners of Lake Tahoe, and Slow Food Lake Tahoe.
The five free workshops will get you excited and ready to prepare for growing. They are all held from 5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on the dates below:
Organic Gardening 101 – 5/5
Potatoes 5/12
Lettuce and Kale – 5/19
Artichokes – 5/26
Tomatoes – 6/2
These workshops are fun for all ages with participants receiving instruction on cultivation techniques, history/background on the plants being highlighted, and are eligible for free plants for your gardens. After attending a workshop you can pick up free starter plants at four locations around the Truckee/Tahoe area to help get your garden going. Please indicate in the registration link where you would like to pick up your starter plants.
