SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Lake Tahoe Unified School District (LTUSD) has announced the appointment of two new principals for South Lake Tahoe schools after the current principals announced their retirements.
Ms. Becky Berry will take the helm at Tahoe Valley Elementary and Ms. Tiffany Allison at Sierra House Elementary, both starting their new positions in August 2026.
Becky Berry
Ms. Berry brings nearly two decades of experience in education, including her current role as a principal in Portland Public Schools for the past 10 years, during which she has also served as an assistant principal, instructional specialist, and classroom teacher. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to student achievement, inclusive practices, and collaborative school leadership.
She has extensive experience working in diverse school communities and leading innovative programs, including a Title I Dual Language Immersion school serving multilingual learners and students with diverse needs. Her leadership emphasizes high expectations for all students, culturally responsive teaching, and strong partnerships with families and staff.
Her leadership philosophy aligns closely with LTUSD’s vision of fostering the unique talents and potential of every student and creating a collaborative, nurturing environment that promotes equity, academic excellence, and the well-being of all learners. She is deeply committed to building a positive school culture where staff work together, communicate openly, and focus on solutions that support student success.
Ms. Berry is excited to relocate to South Lake Tahoe with her family. LTUSD said they are thrilled to welcome Ms. Berry to Tahoe Valley Elementary and look forward to the leadership, experience, and passion she will bring to our students, staff, and families.
Tiffany Allison
Ms. Tiffany Allison brings a wealth of experience, passion, and student-centered leadership. With nearly two decades in education, she has served in a variety of roles, including classroom teacher, instructional coach, and leader, and most recently Assistant Principal at Ruby Bridges Elementary School in the Alameda Unified School District. Throughout her career, she has demonstrated a strong commitment to academic excellence, equity, and building inclusive school communities where all students can thrive.
Ms. Allison has led key initiatives focused on culturally and linguistically responsive teaching, supporting both new and veteran teachers through coaching, professional development, and collaborative planning. She has played an instrumental role in fostering restorative practices that prioritize relationships, student voice, and a sense of belonging.
Colleagues and supervisors consistently describe Ms. Allison as a collaborative, thoughtful, and equity-driven leader who builds trust with students, staff, and families alike. Known for her visible presence on campus and dedication to meaningful relationships, she is committed to creating a school culture where every child feels seen, valued, and empowered. Sierra House Elementary looks forward to the leadership, vision, and care she will bring to the community in the years ahead.
Personally, Ms. Allison is married with two children, and it’s been her dream to live and work in beautiful Lake Tahoe.
