In addition to being dedicated to Harrah’s and Harveys casinos and clients, Caesars employees are also dedicated to helping their fellow community members by donating their personal time to volunteer at community events through their HEROs (Harrah’s/Harveys’ Employees Reaching Out) employee organization.
Since 2015, the Harrah’s/Harveys’ HEROs have been hosting two Adopt A Day of Nourishment (AAD) sponsorships annually and they always send a great AAD crew, often with seasoned volunteers who have volunteered many times over the years.
Monday, April 21, was no exception when the HERO AAD volunteers attending the Monday Meal were once again an outstanding and helpful crew.
Led by Darlene Winkelman, the HEROs’ AAD team leader and coordinator, the attending HEROs AAD team members also included Bobby Caron, Janice Dill, Sabrina Fagliano, Alisha Johnston, and Janeen White. Working in a customer service environment, the HEROs team members knew exactly what to do to make the dinner guests’ evening meal a really positive experience.
The HEROs helped prepare the utensils, packed bags of fresh fruit and vegetables, set up the dessert table, filled the dinner trays, dried dishes, and assisted with the meal’s takedown/cleanup. Taking a break from all of this activity, Alisia took a moment to share her thoughts about her B&B meal volunteering service. “Such a good feeling to help and give back to the community. I had a really ‘fun time’ volunteering. Would do it again!”
Bread & Broth’s (B&B) Monday Meal is always a great experience for all attendees…dinner guests, AAD sponsor crew members, B&B cooks, and B&B serving crew volunteers. Whether enjoying a hot, nutritious meal, receiving bags of nutritious food for later in the week, or helping others, everyone walks away with a smile on their face!
