DOUGLAS COUNTY, Nev. – On April 29, 2026, at approximately 9:10 p.m., Douglas County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO) patrol deputies were dispatched to the area of Pinenut Road in Gardnerville, Nevada, following a report that a medical helicopter was being targeted by a blue laser from the ground.
Upon arrival, deputies made contact with the helicopter pilot, who reported being struck again by the laser while in flight.
Deputies located a Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck parked along the roadside and contacted the driver, Jakob Green. The deputy’s investigation led to the arrest of Green for allegedly directing the blue laser light at the aircraft intentionally.
Green was arrested and charged with directing a laser device at an aircraft, as well as an outstanding felony warrant for stalking/harassment. He was transported to the Minden Jail and booked on a total bail amount of $13,140.
“Any attempt to interfere with emergency vehicles or aircraft will not be tolerated and will be strictly enforced. Acts like this place lives at serious risk,” said Sheriff Coverley.
