I’m a senior at South Tahoe High School. My classmates and I were born in 2007 and 2008, after Measure S, which funds our parks, fields and bike paths, was passed in 2000. We grew up being able to use all the things it paid for: playing club soccer at the community playfields by the college, riding our bikes through town on safe paths away from cars, and going to birthday parties at Tahoe Paradise Park. Because we’ve always been able to do these things, we don’t know our town without them.

Measure G is on the June ballot, and it extends the funding for all this recreation in our community for another 30 years. This is the first time I’ll be able to vote, and I’m voting for Measure G because having these opportunities in our community allowed me to have a fun childhood, and I want to be sure other kids get to have one, too.
