To the voters of the larger South Lake Tahoe community,
Measure B is not a new tax. It’s a continuation of the parcel tax that you’re already paying. This tax is an essential (and significant) portion of the South Lake Tahoe Library’s budget. By passing this tax you ensure that we have a strong, funded library for the next twenty years.
I worked for the South Lake Tahoe branch of the El Dorado County Library for twenty nine years. A public library is essential to our community. It’s a space where people of all ages can find resources and human connection. People should have the right to read whatever they want — a public library preserves that freedom. Join me in voting YES on Measure B.
