SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – It’s been ten years since a group of community-minded women on the South Shore got together to start a collective-giving group – The Tahoe Women’s Community Fund (TWCF). From the first days, through the years of Lisa Maloff matching donations to put back into the community, TWCF is now 243 members strong and closing in on $900,000 of giving.
In 2016, TWCF awarded $22,000 in grants to four nonprofits serving the South Shore, and they just awarded $134,991 to 16 different nonprofits for 2025. The total given to date is $863,467, and this is all money donated by members with the philosophy of together, more can be done to help others.
Last week, TWCF members (both men and women) held their annual Grants Gala to celebrate the awardees of grants last year and to hand out checks to those receiving funds for the coming year.
Those awarded funds for 2025:

People can join TWCF for a minimum of $125. All members can vote on how the money is given. For more information, visit https://www.tahoewomenscommunityfund.org/.
