On behalf of the American Legion family, as Commander, I would like to extend our thanks to the Lake Tahoe Hi-Lo’s for their total and complete support with the Spaghetti Feed Fund Raiser last Saturday.

A very special thanks goes to Wendy Stevens, a Hi-Lo member and owner of Ohanas Unique Design, who created this event and single-handedly secured more than 50 items to be raffled off at the end of the evening. Many of the items were hand-made by Wendy!  Wendy – and her team of Hi-Lo volunteers – showed up on Saturday morning and worked all day preparing for the supporters who came to have a great spaghetti dinner, prepared by Sal Sunzeri, a Hi-Lo AND American Legion member.

In addition to the ‘Hi-Lo’ volunteers, the American Legion also had several volunteers to help with serving, cleaning up, and supporting the almost 100 people who came for dinner.  Over $3,000 was raised to help the Legion with needed funds to assist with some past-due bills.

The Stella Van Dyke Johnson American Legion has been serving Veterans since 1949, for over 76 years.  And, to our community, a reminder – the Legion is here for you.  Many Legion Posts are open ONLY for Veterans.  Not This Post.  We are open to our community, and you are invited to come in – any day we are open (Wednesday through Sunday) – from 3:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. and have a drink or just chat.

In addition, we are here if you need a location to hold a party, whether it be for a birthday, anniversary, Quinceañera, Celebration of Life, or just to gather for a family reunion or a dance party.  Our rental prices are the lowest in town.  Call 530-541-8788 for more information or to schedule an event.
